Great Teacher

Teaching is one of the most complicated and challenging jobs today. The main role of a teacher is to educate and teach students to be success in their life. Everyone can be a teacher, but not all of them can be a good teacher. They hold our young children's minds in their hands and mold them like pieces of fine clay. Here, I want to share some qualities or characteristics that is required in order to become a great teacher.
Firstly, a great teacher must have excellent teaching skills. He or she can explain ideas clearly in class, is able to attract students to follow the teaching and learning process smoothly, have good communication skills, have variety of teaching techniques and approaches, and can make the subject become interesting and enjoyable. A good teacher with excellent teaching skills for sure can control the class well and the objectives of the lessons can be achieved. He or she easily to swap ideas with other teachers and attends seminars or classes in order to improve his/her teaching skills.
Besides that, to become a great teacher at school, we need to have a good and strong relationship with students. A good teacher knows students personally by name and background, avoid humiliation, ready to listen to his/her students’ problems and talk, understand their feelings and appreciate students’ opinions and suggestions in class. If a teacher has a good relationship with students, the students will feel comfortable and enjoy to be in class. They will follow the instructions given easily and try to give the best cooperation to their teacher.
Then, a good teacher is also prepared and organized for class earlier. He/she will plan what is going to teach and  what is the objectives of the lesson before enter the class every day so that the teaching and learning process will be smooth and under control. He/she shows good attitudes and behaviours by entering the class on time, be fair and square in giving task and make decision, responsible, creative, patient and so on so forth. Furthermore, they love what they do. They teach and do everything not for the money, prestige, or glory, but they do it because it brings them an incredible feeling of satisfaction knowing they are contributing positively to the futures of others.
In a nutshell, it is not easy to become a great teacher. We should have a unique set of qualities such as excellent teaching skills, good and strong relationship with students, and also prepared and organized for class earlier. A good teacher will be loved, remembered and appreciated by the students although they already success in their life.

PBS

Last week I went for PBS at SK Melor, Kota Bharu with my partner, Norjamilah. The experience during PBS is very useful for me especially for my practicum next year. It exposed me to the real situation and environment of school when I go there because I need to be friend with the senior teachers at school, staffs and students. Something that interesting for me is when I met my primary school teacher at this school. The teacher had been exchanged from my old school to this school for 2-3 years ago. She never teach me before, so I could not recognized her at first when I saw her. I felt like I ever met her, but I cannot remembered about it. So, I decided to forget about it and acted like usual. However, at the last day, she asked me where was my primary school and I just answered her question. Finally, I found her that she was my primary school. I felt so embarrassed because I can’t recognized her but she can.
On the other hand, all of the school’s staffs and teachers there are very nice and kind. The headmaster treated us like we already became part of them. At the teachers’ room, there is a pantry room inside. The pantry room is very active and merrier. Every day in the morning, the school’s staff will prepare some drink for the teachers there and the teachers will bring food and cakes. They will eat together if they are free at that time. The headmaster joined them without thinking about the status and others. They seem like a big and  happy family. The staffs at the school’s canteen are also kind and friendly. At the last day I was there, they treated me and all of my PBS’s friends for lunch.
In a nutshell, I hope I can get and gain more experiences and knowledge during my next PBS in the next semester. These experiences will help me a lot in order to become a good teacher in the future.

The Internet

Nowadays, internet is becoming the most crucial technology of the modern world. According to Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, internet means an international computer network connecting other networks and computers from companies, universities and etc. It is the greatest invention in the domain of communication industry. Similar to other developments, internet also has its advantages and disadvantages for its users.
First of all, internet provides access to a lot of information. We can say that, information is at the end of our fingertips. We just need to type what is the information we need by using yahoo or google, and click. Then, the information needed will be appears on your computer’s screen. You can find everything you want as easy as that. It is very useful especially for students like us in order to find the information about study.
Besides that, internet is also acts as a communication tool. By using the internet, we can contact our friends, family and others who are physically present a thousand miles away within a few second only. There are many kind of social networks in the internet that we can use such as facebook, skype, yahoo messenger and etc. At the same time, we also can make friends with people from other state and country. So, we can get more knowledge about other country, races, and their cultures.
Internet is also popular as a medium of entertainment. A wide variety of entertainment including video games, music, movies, news and others can be accessed through the Internet. Lately, people do not need to wait in front of television just only to watch their favourite movie, but they can access to the movie and other entertainment through their computer at anytime and anywhere they want as long as there is internet connection.
Some people said that, “internet has made our life convenient”. They said that because through the internet, they can now perform all their transaction online by using numerous online services. They can pay electricity bills, water bills, and also book ticket for a movie right from their homes. Besides that, they also can do shopping by using the internet. They can buy anything from homes. They just need to order the product and bank in the money, then the good will send to their homes. So, they can save their time and energy to go there and there to search and buy the product.
On the other hand, internet also has its disadvantages. First of disadvantages is people are getting weaker and sick if they spend time too much in front of computer. Radiation emitted by computer’s screen is harmful to eyes. People who like to sit and spend their time a lot in front of computer will be addicted because they do not need to go anywhere and do other activities. Lastly, they have no real friends and cannot live without internet.  When there is no internet connection, they are getting furious and miserable. People become lazy and less communication skill.
Besides that, some people misuse the benefits of the internet. Through the internet, people can see and download pornography pictures easily. This is a very serious issue especially when it comes to young children. We can see from media recently, there are so many social problems among teenager. They are influenced by their bad surrounding to do something that is unmoral.
As a conclusion, everything in this world has its advantages and disadvantages. Actually, it is depends on us whether we want to choose the right way or not. If we use it correctly, so we get the benefits. But, if we misuse it, so we will get the bad effects.

One day in London Street..

The Mecca of the city: In a London street, the faithful find a way to pray as their mosque overflows

Last updated at 11:24 PM on 3rd February 2012

In the shadow of the glass and steel skyscrapers of London’s Square Mile, hundreds of  Muslims kneel in the street for Friday prayers.
Yesterday’s hour-long service a stone's throw from the heart of the financial district proved so popular that worshippers filled the streets around the tiny community mosque.
City workers in pinstripe suits mixed with Muslims from the local Bangladeshi community, cramming into the streets beside a Bentley and other parked cars.

The Brune Street mosque, in Spitalfields, East London, is the nearest mosque for Friday prayers for many City workers and others from Brick Lane and Whitechapel.

Filling the street: Beneath a towering office block the shoeless worshippers bow down. The Brune Street mosque, in Spitalfields, East London, is the nearest mosque for Friday prayers for many City workers

It is a one-room community mosque with a maximum capacity of 100, so when some 300 turn up for Friday midday prayers locals have become accustomed to seeing worshippers kneeling in the surrounding streets, all facing Mecca.

One worshipper said: ‘It’s grown and grown in recent years. It started off as just one room in the mosque, but now people come from all over the City and there just isn’t the room for them in the building.

‘You get the whole community, everyone from City boys to  people from the local area. It’s great being outside on a day like today, but it’s not so much fun when it rains.
‘Some people are surprised when they come into the area on a Friday – seeing that many people praying outside together is not an everyday sight in the UK.
‘You wouldn’t know unless you were looking for it, but it’s right in the middle of the City.’

Handphone

Hi friends..
Here i want to share something with you about hand phone..actually, during our last ELE's lecture, we are given a few topics to choose to talk about in our blog.. so, i happily to choose 'HAND PHONE' as my topic's to speak about. Why??..it is just because, all of us have hand phones, right? =)

Hand phone is a device that can make and receive telephone calls over a radio link whilst moving around a wide geographic area. we can say that, most of people nowadays have their own hand phones includes young children and teenagers. As we can see, young children at 7 years old today have also their own hand phone. they are very up-to-date and advance. Compared to children at this age level during my age, they just only like to play traditional games with their friends and neighbors. it is going to be a necessary tool for us to contact family, friends and others. can you imagine what will happen to you if your hand phone is missing or broken? of course you will feel very miserable and anxiety until can't focus to your study and anything you do. (especially for people who has someone special in their life)

Today we can see variety types of mobile phone in the market. Every month there is the latest hand phone with new features will come out and people will search for it. And i'm sure of course all of you had ever change you mobile phone, right?maybe for 2 times, 3 times and above. i myself now is using my 4th hand phone,huhu.. it is not because i want to look smart or up to date, but it is because i got problem with mine. Actually hand phone can be good, and also can be bad. it's depends on the person how to manage it.

Insya Allah =)

Salam'alaik...

Here i want to share a song's lyric entitle 'Insya Allah' by maher Zain..
If you listen to the song and understand the meaning, you will feel something inside your heart.. =)

Everytime you feel like you cannot go on
You feel so lost
That your so alone
All you is see is night
And darkness all around
You feel so helpless
You can`t see which way to go
Don`t despair and never loose hope
Cause Allah is always by your side

Insya Allah3x
Insya Allah you`ll find your way

Everytime you can make one more mistake
You feel you can`t repent
And that its way too late
Your`re so confused, wrong decisions you have made
Haunt your mind and your heart is full of shame

Don`t despair and never loose hope
Cause Allah is always by your side
Insya Allah3x
Insya Allah you`ll find your way
Insya Allah3x
Insya Allah you`ll find your way

Turn to Allah
He`s never far away
Put your trust in Him
Raise your hands and pray
OOO Ya Allah
Guide my steps don`t let me go astray
You`re the only one that showed me the way,
Showed me the way 2x
Insya Allah3x
Insya Allah we`ll find the way

Never loose hope in Allah...
Never give up...
and all the best...=)

Kevin

Hi friends...

Yesterday, we have discussed on a short story in class entitle 'KEVIN' by Catherine Lim. This story is about Kevin who is an excellent student in his class and always get 95% and above in his tests. However, Kevin has a mother who is very strict and perfectionist woman especially in something involving Kevin and his study. His mother controlled his life strictly and set up a variety of punishment if he can't get what she had target before. Besides that, Kevin's mother also does not give him permission to be friend with Boon Kee, who is his best friend at school just only because of his untidy appearance and playful. She worries Kevin will be influenced by him.

If I were him, i will so depressed because my mother put a big pressure to be best in my study and friends. I can't study well and it will influence my performances at school. Same like Kevin. Actually no one in this world wants to be treated like that. The story shows how a child harbored his feelings when he is pressured by his mother until he can't focus to his test. When he is informed that his mother is sent to the hospital for one week, he feels relieve because he can avoid from his mother. Can you imagine? A son doesn't care about his mother's healthy and happy when she is not around. He does everything that his mother asks just because of his respect  and fears to his mother, not because of his love and care. It's not his fault to be like that, but it is a fault to treat him like that. We also can't put all the mistakes to his mother. She just want the best for the only son she have. But her way is wrong.

Actually we can take a lot of lessons from the story. Imagine what will happen when Kevin is adult and he has children. Maybe he will treat his children same like what he had faced before. It will influenced all of his life. When he is growing, it is possible for him to run away from his house because of the stress. On the other side, maybe Kevin will become an dependent man. He can't make his own decision and always depend on others to decide for him. So, we as a becoming teacher should take this story as a lesson and reminder to become a good and understanding teacher. We need to take care about all of our students and know about their family and background so that we can prepare ourselves to face it.

The Summary of Drove Roads

The drovers had to overcome the problem of the long journey such as providing sufficient food for the cattle to sustain them throughout their journey. He had to rely on the food that could be found along the way. He showed great skill in manoeuvring these herds that often spread out over considerable distance and make sure that the cattle did not stray into private land to feed. He had to be on the look-out for farms and blow a horn to warn the farmer in order to avoid the their cattle mixed up with the farmer’s cattle. Besides that, he also has to cope with robbers and need to know how to control the stampede of the cattle because the cattle are frightened  by sudden loud noises. He had to have an intimate knowledge of the temperament of his animals because they must not be overdriven. In addition, he should arrived at important market to get the best prices from butchers.

New Knowledge

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh..
Hi sweeties.. =)
nothing special here..but, i want to share a recipe with you..

'Kek Batik' recipe

Last holiday, I have learnt this recipe with my sis..it's simple but very delicious and suitable for everyone to eat at anytime they want..and also less budget needed ;-)

here is the recipe

  •  a packet of marie biscuits (350 g)
100g (3/4 cup) milo *

25g (1/4 cup) cocoa powder *
125ml (1/2 cup) boiling water
190g (3/4 cup) butter, cut into large chunks
200g (1/2 tin) sweetened condensed milk
110g (1/2 cup) white granulated sugar
5 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* You may adjust the amount of milo and cocoa powder to your taste, for example 1/2 cup milo and 1/2 cup cocoa powder.

1. Roughly break each bisuits into quarters, set aside.
2. Slowly add boiling water to milo and cocoa in a saucepan, stirring vigorously until it is smooth. Add butter, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, lightly beaten eggs and vanilla to the saucepan.
3. Place over moderate heat and cook, stirring all the time with a whisk or a spoon, until you feel the bottom starts to thicken, about 5 minutes.
4. Turn heat down to low, and continue to cook, stirring without stopping, for about another 20 minutes, or until a thick custard forms.
5. Transfer the thick custard to a large mixing bowl, add quartered biscuits. Mix until all the biscuits are coated with the custard.
6. Transfer mixture to the prepared tin. Press down firmly so there are no air pockets in the mixture. Bang the tin on the bench a couple of times to settle the mixture, fold the paper extensions over the top and press down to even the surface. Then let cool to the touch.

This recipe is very simple to do and just simple ingredients are required,, and also can be prepared within 40 minutes.

Maybe all of you already know how to make 'kek batik',, but it's still a new knowledge for me..

all the best;-)
